Beyond Scared Straight -Juvenile Justice Reform: A Juvenile Defendant’s Sentence of 110 Years Is Okay

Via Scoop.itJuvenile Defendants

A juvenile gang defendant’s sentence of 110 years to life for premeditated murder does not constitute cruel and unusual punishment. The 110 year sentence is not life without parole, although a functional equivalent to a sentence of life without parole, does not violate the Eight Amendment.
